At a Foreign General Assembly

It feel a bit strange to attend a Presbyterian General Assembly that is not PC(USA). I have been a  GA commissioner twice and attended more than a dozen others. I am in Baton Rouge, LA at a Doubletree Hotel waiting for Dan, my son-in-law, who is chairing one of their standing committees. He is at an origanizational meeting ofr committee chairs. Tonight is the opening worship. I am not sure what I will find or what I will conclude after this experience is ended. There nothing on  the agenda about homosexuality or same-sex marriages. There are no long stanement about global warming, or disputes with Indian tomato picker's unions, I would be surprised if there is neo-pagan elements at the tonight's worship. There are no cause groups distributing buttons or ribbons or balloons.

I will miss none of that.
